A jornada do tempo perdido (The journey of lost time) is an installation consisting of sound, a video projection on the ceiling and a blanket lying on the floor. In order to experience it, the spectators are invited to site or lay down on the blanket and look up. The work intends to recreate, in a fragmented, vague and somewhat fictional way, a very simple but very important experience from a cultural and mythological point of view: the nocturnal crossing of the forest.
Video and sound appear as two elements in tension, being the sound the key element of the installation. It consists of a narrative soundscape, combining real sounds and the voice of a narrator. The story describes moments of a characte’s journey, which we perceive at a certain point to be a young girl, through the forest. The video, on the other hand, filmed in a forest at the evening’s blue hour, shows only silhouettes of shrubs, branches and leaves.
